Thank you to donors, buyers, sponsors and all our other supporters, for helping to make the 2012 Second Chance Fashion Sale another great success! When we opened the doors at 9am last Saturday, 10 March, there were already over 100 early birds in the queue, keen to get started on their fashion bargain quest. And they weren't disappointed as the quality of garments this year was even higher than usual and we had kept the prices low, low, low. More and more women arrived throughout the morning and left laden with goodies. We have raised a heap of money for our cause - supporting women working to achieve tertiary qualifications despite difficult social or financial circumstances. We do this by funding a number of New Horizons for Women Trust's second chance education awards. As soon as we have done the final figures, we will tell you how much we will be donating to New Horizons this year.Thank you to our volunteers During the year we operate with an organising group of around 10 women and on sale day we have around 40 women helping, including a number of Zonta members.Join our emailing listIf you are not already on our emailing list, click here and we will put your details on our list so that we can keep you up to date with what is happening. What to do if you have clothes ready, but missed the deadlineIf you have clothes ready to donate, you can either : Keep them until we start collecting again next January for the 2013 sale, or Contact us in the next week and we will collect from you before the end of April, then store your donations until next year. Please do not take any more donations to the drop off points. We will not be picking up from them again this year. |
